Social Media Is Just A Fad …Yeah Right!!!

Do you think social media is just a fad?
Take a look at this…

Success Quote From the Bible

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
(Proverbs 3:5-10)

Wayne Parks Sr’s Daily Affirmation

Here is a daily affirmation.
Affirmations are best repeated just before you go to bed at night.
They will stick in your subconscience better that way.
‘I am a success and everything I touch turns to gold’

Change Is Hard

Change is hard sometimes but well worth the effort.

There have been several times in my life that I needed to make a change but didn’t. Why? Because I feared stepping out and changing from the daily routine. My comfort zone. It was easier to keep doing the same old thing over and over again than it was to change.  It didn’t matter that it was costing me financially, physically and spiritually. It was comfortable, so I didn’t change.

Staying in your comfort zone is a way of avoiding a perceived pain. And because most of us fear pain we avoid it by not changing. Even tho we know it is costing us.

For the past five years I was an owner operator of a semi truck. For the biggest part of those five years I lost money. Everyday I would think I will make it back on this trip, it will get better on the next trip. So on and so on. Even tho I knew down deep in my heart it would not. Finally it came to a boiling point. I was very hard to get along with. Nothing to do with the job would satisfy me. I told the guy I was leased to I was burnt out and needed a couple of days off. I took those days and dreaded even the thought of getting back in the cab and taking off. What was the use. I was tired of driving and I wasnt making any money. But I feared change and went back to the terminal to get my next assignment.

Well the decision to change was made for me. When I saw the owner I asked him where he wanted me to go next. His reply “nowhere I don’t need you anymore and I have canceled your lease” . Even tho I was as mad as a wet hen, I was relieved at the same time. What a burden had been lifted off my shoulders. The change had been made for me. And because I was hard-headed and feared the change, I let it go so long that I was broke. If I had just faced my fear of change a long time ago I would be in a whole lot better shape today.

Let me ask you, how much is the fear of change costing you in your marketing efforts? Are you scared to call a prospect? Are you scared to start a blog?

What change do you need to make to give your marketing a boost?

A quick Affirmation

Here is a quick affirmation that is worth repeating just before you lay your head down tonight:
I have a magnetic and dynamic personality.

The Lottery Mentality

Why is the failure rate in network marketing so high? I believe it is due to the lottery mentality.

People start surfing around on the internet and see all of these ads with the outrageous earning potentials and think they have hit upon their winning lottery ticket. All they have to do is pay the one fine fee, give them their name and email address and whammo they are instant millionaires.

The cold hard fact, it just doesn’t work that way.  It you want to succeed with your online business the first thing you need to do is educate yourself. Learn how to find a business, learn how and where to promote your business. Once you have prospects learn how to convert them into paying customers. Learn how to keep your paying customers coming back again and again for a residual income.

Becoming successful on the internet doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and effort. But it is very obtainable. If you only have an hour a day, take that time to educate yourself. If you don’t have an hour a day, make the time. The biggest waste of time in an average day is spent watching TV. If you watch TV 2 hours a day, cut it back to one. You can see where I am going with this. The more time you spend educating yourself the quicker the success will come.

Success does not come from winning the lottery. It comes from educating yourself

My Wedding Band

Recently I left home in my truck headed for Texas to make my weekly run. I had been home for three days and was not looking forward to leaving. As usual I waited to the very last minute to leave.
About six hours after leaving home I needed to stop and take on fuel. So I pulled into the Petro truck stop and took care of business. Fueling the truck using the restroom and getting something to drink and snack on. As I was climbing back up into the truck I noticed, to my horror, that my wedding band was gone.
After throwing my drink and chips up into the truck I ran back inside to check and see if it had fallen off when I was washing my hands. It wasn’t there. After retracing my steps and looking everywhere I resigned myself to the fact that my wedding band was gone and I was going to have to tell my wife.
As I rolled down the road I finally worked up the nerve to call my wife and tell her. After I told her I asked her to look in a couple of places at home and she did, with no luck.
Guys that is a call you don’t want to have to make to your wife.
Finally it was late and time to stop and take a break for some sleep. Before laying down I got my Bible off the dash to read a little before going to bed. I ask the lord for just ‘a word’ for the day. Upon opening my Bible I came to a page with an inset on it. The inset was tltled WORD. I could just hear the lord chuckling and saying “You ask me for ‘A Word’”.
Just before laying down I was thinking about my wedding band and opened my Bible to John 14 verse 13 and it reads ” And what ever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the father will be glorified in the Son”.
So I sat in the drivers seat and prayed, “Lord my wedding band means alot to me and I would really like to have it back, please help me find it. Amen”.
Closing my Bible, I climbed back into my bunk and before laying down I picked up my pillow to fluff it up and low and behold there was my wedding band. It was layed out perfectly in the center under my pillow.
Mind you I had been home for three days. If I had not had my wedding band on my wife would have noticed that and been asking question. And since I had just left home that morning I had not been in the bunk.
Where ever I had lost my wedding band, GOD picked it up and layed it under my pillow for me to find.
God cares so much for us all. He performs miracles everyday. From bringing people back to life to bringing my wedding band back to me.

Taking The First Step

Taking The First Step To Getting My Blog On

It’s funny, I have sat here for days scared to death of getting this blog started with my first article. But I thought what the heck are you scared of. For goodness sake you have made over 500 jumps out of a perfectly good airplane and you’re scared to write an article. Ridiculous.
So here it goes.
I grew up in the Louisville Ky area. My mom and dad were fantastic parents. They provided the three of us (me and my 2 brothers) with a good home.
Growing up was pretty uneventful. We didn’t have  a lot but we had the most important thing we could have, love from our parents.
After graduating from high school I decided I was bored so I went out to a skydiving club in Bardstown Ky.
After paying the fees for training and the jump it was time to get started learning how to get out of a perfectly good airplane with nothing more than a wadded up piece of nylon that somebody else packed for you.
In about a 6 hour training course we learned how to properly put on the equipment and what to look for as far as making sure that your harness was as tight as you could stand it. Believe me, you didn’t want to get anything caught between your leg strap and your leg when the parachute opened.
After learning how to put the equipment on we were taught how to safely approach and enter the plane. Then where to sit on our ride to altitude. After this we were taught how to get out of the airplane and hang on the strut without killing everyone else in the plane.
Once they taught you how to get out of the plane they taught you how to let go of the plane and the proper body position to do so. Which by the way was not by bending at the waist and kissing your butt good-bye. Arch your back as hard as you can and fall like a badminton. Next we were taught how to steer the canopy and how to land safely. Preferably not in a tree.

My first jump

After getting suited up for the jump, myself and 2 other first time jumpers waddle out to the plane along with our jumpmaster/instructor and our pilot.

Checking my harness as best I could to make sure all the buckles and straps were secure and tight about a million times on the way up to altitude, it was time for the first student to make his jump. I was the second one getting out, so I had to endure all that was going on that much longer. The first guy has gotten out of the plane and away he went. I guess everything is ok because the pilot and jumpmaster aren’t freaking out.

Now its my turn. Shaking like a leaf and praying over and over, ”God let me live thru this jump and I will never do it again” , with the aid of my jumpmaster I got in the place to be the next out of the plane. A few more minutes pass and the instructor checks all of my equipment. He tells me it’s almost time and he pops open the door to take a look to see if we are over our exiting target. Then he says “Its time to go” and the door flys open.  I scoot my feet out of the plane and put my butt on the edge of the door frame With one foot on the step and one hand on the wing strut Taking the first step, I swing my self out and grab the strut with my other hand. Now it is time to step off and hang there on the strut by my hands. Still praying “God let me live thru this and I will never make another jump again”, the jumpmaster tapped me on the back of the leg and I let go.

One one thousand two one thousand three one thousand and oh my God I have a fully opened parachute over my head and I’m alive.

You would not believe how quite and peaceful it is 3000 feet off the ground with nothing more than some nylon flapping in the breeze.

If you want a natural high then do something like jump out of an airplane and experience the effects of  adrenaline. Awesome.

Note to self  “If you can jump out of a perfectly good airplane you can write a blog”.

The peace you find once you get past a fear is so satisfying.

Taking the first step isn’t so hard after all.
